What is chlorine dioxide?
Selectrocide™ brand chlorine dioxide kills algae, bacteria, and viruses in contact times ranging from a few seconds to minutes. It is effective in cleaning contaminated irrigation lines with periodic treatment at a moderate dose of 50ppm and maintaining a clean and healthy supply of irrigation water with a continuous, ultra-low dose of 0.25ppm.
Used in many industries as the sanitizing agent of choice, chlorine dioxide is 10-20 times more effective than bleach (sodium hypochlorite), highly soluble in water, and compatible and effective over a wide pH range. Its use has been limited to large volume applications such as municipal water systems due to costly and elaborate generation systems...until now.
