Fascination Plant Growth Regulator

Fascination is a combination of two types of plant growth hormones that produce unique and dramatic effects in plants. The initial label includes applications to Easter, LA Hybrid, and Asiatic lilies. Expect further label expansions that may include such novel uses as overcoming the effects of Bonzi® or Sumagic® over-applications, increasing flower number, size and color. It may also eliminate the need for a cold treatment to initiate flowering in certain crops. This past spring several growers were able to safely add height to short lily crops using very low rates of Fascination® as a full coverage foliar spray. The potential uses for this product are enormous!
Lower leaf yellowing, a significant problem late in the lily crop can be prevented by two applications of Fascination® at 5-10 ppm. The first application should be made roughly 7-10 days before the lily schedule predicts the visible bud date. The second application should be made 7-10 days after buds are visible.
"The potential uses for this product are enormous!"
Both of these applications need to be made as a course spray directed only at the lower 1/3 of the foliage to avoid unwanted stretching. The extra time needed to make this application is well worth the effort, as any grower who has experienced lower leaf yellowing will tell you.
A recent discovery has led to the recommendation of a third application. When the largest buds on the plant are 3" long, a 100 ppm spray made over the top of the plant causes the lily blooms to stay open up to 24 days without causing any stretch! Whereas untreated blooms typically only last 5-8 days. This has the potential to make the finishing of lilies much less difficult, especially for those growers who do not have access to coolers. Additionally, when the last application of Fascination is applied prior to placing the lilies in a cooler it eliminates unsightly leaf yellowing that commonly occurs during storage in a cooler.
