Each year the National Garden Bureau (NGB) selects one annual, one
GRIFFIN GAZETTE perennial, one bulb, one edible, one house plant and one shrub for their Year
Of promotion. Plants are chosen because they are popular, easy-to-grow,

The Year Of program is a way to bring attention to gardening by feeding
interesting facts to hungry plant nerds and educating new gardeners on
popular plants, new and old. Gardeners can learn more about a crop they are
already growing, including new varieties within that crop. The program may
also entice gardeners to grow crops they had not grown in the past.

The “Year Of” plants are supported by NGB on their website and through
                    countless social media posts.

The program also provides retailers with resources to create their own in store
displays, advertisements and social media posts. Visit https://ngb.org/ and
click on Year Of Plants to select the crops and the marketing pieces that will
work for you. Choose from signs, posters, PowerPoints, fact sheets and “Did
you know” fun facts to support your Year Of promotions and displays. All are
free to use. Simply credit NGB.

You can also contact NGB by email, info@ngb.org, or by phone at
630-963-0770. Or contact your Griffin rep for assistance.
The 2023 Year Of plants will be posted on the NGB website on November 1st.
