Canadian sphagnum peat moss, along with horticultural grade perlite, calcitic and dolomitic limestone for pH stability,
and a wetting agent. This combination of ingredients supplies the characteristics of good drainage, high air porosity,
®
and lower water retention for easy to achieve dry downs. However, a key feature is the addition of AGTIV REACH™
technology which utilizes a beneficial endomycorrhiza, Rhizophagus irregularis, to improve plant growth. These pre-
inoculated, mycorrhizal spores germinate in the growing medium and produce a web of hyphae which enter into the
root cells. This symbiotic relationship creates a network of filaments that have the ability to access more nutrients
and water than the roots by themselves and transfers them to the plant to increase growth rates. Mycorrhizae have
a proven track record for a range of crop species providing a myriad of plant health benefits including environmental
stress mediation.
Unlike traditional compressed bales, the growing medium in these bags is pre-loosened and ready to use. All that’s
required is a quick shake of the bag before tearing the top open for these to be planting ready. This streamlined
approach saves time, ensures uniformity, and offers a predictable solution that can reduce labor.
