Remember: Everyone is a consumer! Think about your shopping needs
in non-industry retail stores and food markets. Ladies shopping for
a dress are more than likely seeing shoes, jewelry and purses within
a short walking distance. Prepared foods are shown with selected
breads, cheeses and, in some states, wine. Think through all the
options when aligning products to maximize add-on sales possibilities.

Miniature-Gardening Basics
You can’t have a garden, miniature or otherwise, without plants.
Etera sedum tiles from Northwest Horticulture are well suited to this
category. Any of the Mouse Ears miniature hostas, available from
Walters Gardens, are also fantastic choices. For added texture and
value, try adding herbs to your display – trailing rosemary is just one
that comes to mind. Of course, your SHS Griffin sales representative
can help with other ideas to build a winning program.

The range of products compatible with the miniature-gardening category
is surprisingly broad. You may even discover many of the basics
among your current inventory! A winning recipe for success includes
containers, soils, contrast (mosses & soil covers) and accessories.

Create a compelling visual display; make it easy and fun. Keep related
products within reach and sell more than before! Good selling!

See p. 18 for special deals on select miniature gardening items.
