Where We Came From
Founded by Charles J. Griffin
Griffin Greenhouse Supplies began in 1947 as a one-man operation, delivering supplies directly to growers’ doors. Guided by his vision to maximize products and services while providing exceptional customer care, the company quickly expanded—broadening its product lines, introducing daily delivery service, opening its first warehouse in Reading, MA in 1949, and relocating to Tewksbury, MA in 1969.
After Mr. Griffin’s passing, Ken Hyslip, Sr. carried the company forward, leading decades of steady growth and expansion. What began as a small local business evolved into a multi-location organization serving professional growers and retailers nationwide.
Following the passing of Ken Hyslip, Sr. in 2019, leadership transitioned to his sons—Rick Hyslip, Craig Hyslip, and Ken Hyslip, Jr. Today, day-to-day operations are led by third-generation Managing Directors John Hyslip and Andrew Barry, who proudly continue Griffin’s legacy of quality and service.
