Plantex® Iron Chelates: A Solution for Greenhouse Growers

Plantex® Iron Chelates provide greenhouse growers with reliable, plant-available iron to support essential functions like photosynthesis, respiration, enzyme activity, and nitrogen fixation. Iron deficiency is most often caused by high media pH or insufficient nutrient levels and typically appears as interveinal chlorosis on new plant growth. If not treated, this can progress to necrosis of leaf tissue and severe plant decline.

Plantex® Iron 11% DTPA is ideal for a pH up to 7, ensuring that iron remains in a soluble, plant-available form. Its fully DTPA-chelated form prevents iron from binding with other compounds, making it highly effective in preventing and correcting deficiency under mildly acidic to slightly alkaline conditions.

Plantex® Iron 6% EDDHA is top choice for more challenging situations, featuring a strong ortho-ortho isomer for maximum stability (up to pH 10) and extended iron availability. This product performs exceptionally well where high pH would otherwise limit iron uptake, ensuring plants receive iron even in the toughest environments.

Both products are easy to integrate into any fertility program and can either be applied to the soil as a drench or to the foliage as a fine spray. For best results, mix thoroughly with water until fully dissolved. By incorporating these highly effective products into their nutrient program, growers can ensure their plants have access to one of the most necessary nutrients for healthy growth and optimal yields.
